Former Indian cricket players expressed their criticism of the name of the Pataudi trophy as Anderson-Tendulkar trophy before the five-game test series in England. The new name seems appropriate, because Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson are the highest of run-reception and the largest window among the pacers in red ball format, respectively.

The trophy was previously appointed according to the captains of India Nawab Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi and Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi.

Former first class cricket player Saad Bin Jung, who belongs to the Pataudi line, said at noon:

“It is confusing to see a cricket player allow a trophy to withdraw from a former Indian test captain and renamed in his own honor. This reflects a total contempt for the cricket community and its seniors in the game. ”

“It says a lot about the way to the way where people are ready to go to recognition-any form of renown, even if it means eclipizing those who led Indian cricket before them. In doing so, you have lost respect in the eyes and eyes of all the fraternity of cricket,” he added.

The former player of India Yajurvindra Singh, who played four tests, found a similar opinion:

“It is ridiculous to retire the Pataudi trophy. Tiger, for me, was one of the greatest Indian cricket players to play the game. He led India for more than a decade and played with one eye – it’s the personified size! I cannot imagine a single international cricket player played. Cricket board (ECB). »»

“The rejection of the Pataudi trophy feels completely useless” – former player of India on the Anderson -Tendulkar trophy

Former Spinner India Venkatpathy Raju, who made 81 international appearances for men in blue, also estimated that it was not necessary to rename the Pataudi trophy as an Anderson-Tendulkar trophy. He said (via midday):

“Sachin Tendulkar is the largest scorer and Anderson the largest lecturer (against India), so it was perhaps the reasoning behind this decision, but I I feel completely useless.”

The Anderson-Tendulkar trophy will be unveiled before the first test between India and England, which begins in Headingley, Leeds, on June 20.
