The Undertaker dominated WWE for 30 years. His feuds against Kane, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Shawn Michaels and many others have placed him in the upper echelons of this industry. There’s no denying that the stories involving ‘Taker are the stuff of legend.
Speaking on a recent episode of What were they thinking? on Backstage passJBL recalled an incredible story about The Undertaker in Iraq. The Hall of Famer said he took photos inside Saddam Hussein’s palace during his visit to Baghdad, Iraq:
“I mean, we, we stayed in Saddam Hussein’s palace. There’s a famous picture of me and Undertaker on Saddam Hussein’s throne. There it is, Palace.” (from 09:33)
Elsewhere on the podcast, JBL revealed that he and The Undertaker were invited to play golf by American soldiers on Saddam Hussein’s front porch during WWE’s visit to Iraq in the 2000s:
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues “spoiled” and “narcissistic” HERE.
“We’re in Saddam Hussein’s palace and in Iraq. We’re rarely, we’ve rarely stayed in the Green Zone. We’ve always stayed in the forward operating bases. And so I got Undertaker and I told him , you want to be part of it? I’m thinking, and I don’t know what’s going on, but something’s going on. And the soldier had gotten a bunch of golf balls from the USO and brought us out on the porch. Hussein and said: would you like to hit golf balls with us? And I say, you’re right, I will It’s one of the best days of my life, we sat there and hit golf balls on Saddam Hussein’s porch in. its lake (from 25:45)
Although JBL didn’t reveal who won the golf game, the former WWE Champion apparently had a good time.
