General Hospital has introduced some very unpopular storylines including those with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) – and most of all, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). Fans were up in arms and angry about his last time with Sam. They started a petition, rented a billboard, and even sent a banner truck next to the studio to express their outrage.
The worst General Hospital stories of 2024
Our No. 5 worst plot twist from last year was the unwanted redemption of Heather Webber (Alley Mills). She was a killer long before her hip implants. GH’s cleanup of the infamous Hook Killer has sparked outrage among fans. Even worse at General Hospital is that Mayor Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) helped with her case. Then bringing back Steven Lars Weber (Scott Reeves) was frustrating.
Our No. 4 most hated plot was the surrogacy storyline for Christina Corinthos (Kate Mansi) and Molly Lansing (Christine Vaganos). It took a nasty turn on General Hospital. Christina’s antics were terrible. It then culminates in the child’s accidental death resulting in the cake being frozen.
GH worst plots last year
We ranked Sasha Gilmore’s Scorpio retcon as our third-worst plot of 2024. Not because we hate Scorpio, but because of what General Hospital did next to Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) and Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers). Our #2 story that we didn’t like the most was the fate of Sam McCall when they fired Kelly Monaco.
Having Cyrus Renault kill Sam and also Dex Heller (Evan Hoover) has fans riled up. General Hospital wrapping Sam’s death at Cyrus’s hands in a recast Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) was an added letdown. But by far, the worst plot on GH last year revolved around Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison).
