Beijing: The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on Wednesday to efforts to build a community of the island countries (PIC) of China-Pacific with a common future at the third meeting of foreign ministers in China-Pacific countries.
Wang, also a member of the Central Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, co-chaired the meeting with the president and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kiribati Taneti Maamau in Xiamen, province of Fujian in southeast China.
Wang made a suggestion of six points on the construction of a China-Pic community with a common future: maintaining mutual respect, prioritizing development cooperation, maintaining governance centered on people, promoting exchange and mutual learning, safeguarding equity and justice, and maintaining solidarity in difficult times.
China will firmly respect the basic principle of non-interference in the domestic affairs of others and will support the photos of the safeguard of their sovereignty, their security and development, he said.
China is ready to work with peaks to implement the global development initiative and to deepen high-quality belt and road cooperation, said Wang, urging efforts to accelerate the negotiation of bilateral free trade agreements, strengthen cooperation in agricultural and fishery technologies and widen tourism cooperation.
Wang said that China will strengthen the exchange of experience with photos in fields such as poverty reduction and basic governance, committing to implement 200 “small and beautiful” subsistence projects this year and send seven lots of 56 medical staff, including more traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, to make a greater contribution to the promotion of the well-being of the inhabitants.
Noting that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the beginning of China to establish diplomatic relations with the photos, Wang said that China had always considered photos as good friends, partners and brothers.
Wang said that, according to the strategic advice of their leaders, the complete strategic partnership between China and the Pic has shown new vitality, has achieved new achievements and reached a new level.
Cooperation China-PICs has given fruitful results, benefiting residents from photos and promoting regional peace, stability and prosperity, he said.
Wang said that China firmly believes that peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefits are the only correct choices in the face of “deep changes in the world, our time and the trajectory of history”.
Foreign ministers from the Pacific island countries expressed their gratitude to China for its precious support over a long period.
