The Israeli army said it had hit a “suspect” vehicle moving north of Gaza, outside the designated inspection road described by the ceasefire agreement. “The FDI (Israeli soldiers) are prepared for any scenario and will continue to take the necessary measures to thwart an immediate threat to the soldiers of the FDI,” the statement said, although it has provided any details on the victims.

Under tension cease

Since the cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas entered into force on January 19, several Palestinians were reported by Israeli fires. Israel defended his actions, declaring that his forces had shot “suspect” – sometimes armed – who pose a risk for the troops operating under the agreement gradually. Hamas, however, accused Israel of raping the truce.

In the first phase of the ceasefire, 33 hostages – including women, children and the elderly or medically vulnerable – had to be released. Until now, 18 have been released, while more than 60 male hostages of military age remain captive, pending new negotiations.

Discussions are expected to start on Tuesday in the next phase of the agreement, which includes the release of remaining hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli Gaza troops. Negotiations aim to reach a final resolution and to end the military operations of Israel in the enclave.

Later Sunday, Hamas accused Israel of having delayed the humanitarian provisions of the Agreement, claiming that essential supplies, including medical aid, fuel and reconstruction media, had not yet been authorized to Gaza.

“We urge the mediators and the guarantors of the ceasefire agreement to force the occupation (Israel) to allow the entry of emergency equipment according to the agreement. The most urgent are the tents, the Fuel, food supplies and heavy machines, “said Hamas Hazem Qassem spokesperson.

There was no immediate response from the Israeli authorities concerning Hamas’ complaints.

While ceasefire negotiations continue, tensions remain high, the two parties negotiating accusations on the implementation of the agreement.
