“I am really happy that we are back together. I am delighted with what we will show at Sea Games because we both know how much we want to win it again,” said journalists after having received the Best Spiker Prize outside the Pilipinas Pvl Press Awards Nights Night Wednesday in Novotel.
Pons and Rondina recently swept away the National Open of the National Federation of Philippine Volleyball (PNVF), but the veteran duo knows that they still have room to improve.

“We are not yet quite back in great shape. We have only been training on the sand for about a month, and we have been released for almost two years. So there is still a lot to improve before the SEA games,” said Pons, who won bronze medals with Rondina at Games Sea 2019 and 2022.
“Since Sisi and I have played together for a long time, our chemistry is still there, so this part was easy. But the passage from the interior to the sand is not as simple-it is something on which we work every day,” she added.

Now, bringing with it the sharp confidence and mentality with the Smashers in Creamline Cool, Pons again takes up the challenge of representing the Philippines in the sand.
“A great thing that I transported from Creamline is the team’s vibration glove. Heat training is exhausting, so it is important that we appreciate each session,” she said.
“In addition, Creamline’s winning state of mind – this is something that I bring with me at Beach Volley. You need this kind of mentality in every match.”
