Manila, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao failed in his attempt to return to the Senate heading 18th in the partial and unofficial results of the Elections Commission (COMELEC) at 10:28 a.m. on Tuesday.

Pacquia de Partido Federal NG Pilipinas (PFP) has obtained 8,404,314 votes so far, which follows more than 2.3 million votes for the 12th and last seat in the Senate with 80.51% of the electoral yields transmitted and 46,206,398 counted votes. Imee Marcos currently holds the last place with 10,720,865 votes.

On Monday, Pacquiao, with his wife Jinkee, arrived at 8 a.m. at Kiamba Central primary school, where he has been a voter registered since 2010, to vote.

“I voted early today. As a Philippin citizen, it is our duty to vote for the future of our city. Do not forget that your vote has a voice and that your voice has power,” Pacquiao published on his Facebook page.

Pacquiao looked at a return to the Senate after losing his presidential candidacy three years ago after announcing his boxing of boxing.

The world champion of eight divisions was elected senator in 2016 after having placed seventh in the race with 16,050,546 votes.

During the presidential elections of 2022, Pacquiao finished a third distant with 3,663,113 votes.

Pacquiao, 46, is ready for his return from the ring to challenge Mario Barrios for the Welters WBC weight championship on July 19 in Las Vegas.
