King Charles, 76, surprised a veteran of the 101 -year war with unexpected health council during his visit to Lancashire on Monday. While attending a keys ceremony outside the castle of Lancaster, the monarch met Richard Brock, a veteran of the landing of the D -Day. After learning the Brock Age, Charles congratulated him, saying: “You are fantastic” and added in joke: “Continue to drink whiskey”.
Brock, which served with the East Lancashire regiment, recalled the meeting, noting how the king encouraged him to maintain his morale with a “whiskey pinch”. His son, Tony Brock, confirmed that the king had made the suggestion in a light tone.

During the visit, the king also interacted with local residents and business owners, despite demonstrations against anti-monarchy demonstrators. Crowds of sympathizers gathered in front of the castle, eager to see Charles, including two elderly women, Joan Hardcastle, 103, and Barbara Graham, 93, who had made a special effort to meet the monarch.
Charles’ remarks on whiskey come after a year filled with public appearances and royal functions, while he continues to inspire and connect with the British audience in his own way.
