Beijing: The Chinese trade ministry called on the United States on Thursday to immediately stop its tariff measures of article 232 and to initiate an equal footing to respond to mutual concerns.
Speaking at a press conference, Iongqian, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, criticized the American prices on imported cars, steel and aluminum, as well as an investigation under article 232 on imported pharmaceuticals, such as “acts typical of unilateism and protectionism”.
The spokesman stressed that these measures not only bring the legitimate rights of other countries and undermine the multilateral trade system based on rules, but also harm the development of American industries.
She also responded to a recent opinion from the US and Security Office, which said that the use of Huawei Ascend flea all over the world would violate US regulations on export control.
She criticized this decision, saying that the United States abuses its export control mechanisms for Chinese manufacturing fleas, which is seriously harming the legitimate interests of Chinese companies, threatens the stability of the global supply chain of semiconductors and disrupts market rules and international trade order.
“Such actions are detrimental to long-term cooperation, mutually beneficial and sustainable between companies on both sides,” said the spokesperson. “China urges the United States to immediately correct its unjustified practices and will take resolved measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.”
