Beijing: China is willing to work with the EU to strengthen dialogue and exchange, manage economic and commercial differences in the appropriate way, extend mutual opening and promote the healthy and stable development of economic and commercial relations in China-EU, said the Chinese vice-minister on Thursday.
He, also a member of the political bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, made these comments at a meeting in Beijing with the European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Safety Maros Sefcovic.
Noting that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of diplomatic links between China and the EU, he said that China was ready to work with the EU to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both parties, resist unilateralism and protectionism and to protect the multilateral negotiation system.
Sefcovic noted that China is an important partner of the EU, expressed its desire to use the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic links as an opportunity to deepen the economic and commercial cooperation of the EU-EU, and have agreed that the differences should be resolved by dialogue and consultation.
