Habs Youngster Lane Hutson won the Calder 2024-2025 trophy as a recruit of the NHL year. After the announcement, several Canadian players republished the team’s official position on their Instagram stories.
Captain Nick Suzuki added “Shocker” in the legend with a yawning emoji. Cole Caufield, Mike Matheson and Juraj Slafkovsky, all joined to show love for the 21 -year -old defender.

Cole Caufield had a reaction in a word to the post. He wrote:
“Stud.”
The youngster played the 82 games for the Habs this season, scored six goals and collected 60 assists, equaling the record of the NHL recruit. He also led all the recruits with 66 points and the most ice time.
The attacker Patrik Laine added:
“LFG”, followed by a chief and fire emoji.
Mike Matheson added a sweet message of congratulations to the 21 -year -old in his story. He wrote:
“Congratulations Laner !!!!”
Juraj Slafkovsky also republished the Calder poster and added a magician hat and download the Emoji, marking Lane Hutson.
Hutson won 165 votes in first place and 1,832 points in total in the race race. Dustin Wolf des Flames de Calgary arrived second with 15 votes in first place and 1,169 points. Lane Hutson opened up to what makes special clothes
During the interview with the Montreal Canadiens season, Lane Hutson asked for her impact on her recruit season on the team. In response, Hutson said that he had no specific expectations to come and was only to help the team, but he could and take advantage of the process.
When asked what makes the Habs team special for him, the 21 -year -old replied:
“How everyone is anchored. No Egos, not really arrogance. Just a bunch of guys who like to play for each other and for fans.”
He also talked about his relationship with head coach Martin St. Louis. Hutson said St. Louis had a great influence on his game and helped him understand the situation as a whole to be a professional.
“I learned so much about being a pro, understanding the long match and what we are building here. He is the most difficult worker, and it’s easy to follow him,” he said.
When he was asked to see the fans carry his jersey in town, Hutson said it was a surreal feeling for him. He said he was just someone who likes to play hockey, and it’s special to see this kind of Montreal support.
