Manila, Philippines – Owa Retamar won all the championship matches in which he played through the UAAP, the Spikers grass and the V -League as part of the National University and the HD Cigal Spikers.

During his last two years of play in the UAAP, Retamar has been named Best Setter and MVP of the finals twice, leading naked to a historic “four peat” to close his collegial career.
He also directed the Bulldogs to the Crown of the V-League 2022 college and the titles of spikers back on Sta under St. Elena in the Open 2022 and 2023 invitation conferences – both against Cignal, which has finally become her club team after university.
During his second year with the HD Spikers stork and the seventh appearance in the global championship, Retamar spent the difference in match 3 against the fierce crosse rival to win the Turf 2025 Turf Open conference two weeks ago in front of a strong crowd of male volleyball with Philsports Arena.

Without doubt the most victorious player of his generation, Retamar – who was the starting sector of the national team who won Silver during the Southeast Asian Games – has always made a duty to remain anchored.
“I really feel blessed. And I always remember that it is not only because of me. Many people have helped me from the start – my coaches, his teammates and my family. I always tell myself that no matter how many victories you get, what really matters, it is your attitude and how you treat people,” said Retamar to Inquirer Sports In Filipino.

The next big challenge for the 23 -year -old playmaker unfortunately leads Pilipinas in the Champions League of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) in Japan next month as part of their accumulation for the historic accommodation of the FIVB male volleyball world championship in September.
“It means a lot. I have already said that if I ever recalled – if the team needs me – I am more than ready to learn, especially from foreign coaches and new systems,” said Retamar.
“It looks like a new start. And because I was already part of the team last year, I feel the responsibility and the pride to represent the country even more. It is incredibly inspiring to play again for the Philippines, and it motivates me to work even harder, because I know that it is for something bigger than me.”
The Turf Best Setter’s Two Spikers has committed to continuing its growth despite its recent success, and is impatient to help develop sport in the country – especially male volleyball – by inspiring the next generation.
“Right now, I just want to continue to grow-not as a player but also as a person. I also want to restore, in particular to the next generation of athletes, especially those of the provinces which, like me, once dreamed of something big,” he said. “If I am lucky to even inspire a few, it already means a lot for me.”
