Rabiot invites Pogba to join Marseille

Adrien Rabiot extended an invitation to his former teammate at Juventus and France Paul Pogba to join him at Olympique de Marseille (OM).

Pogba’s future remains uncertain after his four-year ban for doping was reduced to 18 months on appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). This reduction means Pogba can return to training in January and return to playing in March 2025.

His contract with Juventus having been terminated by mutual agreement last month, the 31-year-old midfielder is now a free agent and would like to remain in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

Speaking to L’Équipe, Rabiot, who joined OM for free in September, said: “I would like to play with Paul. We invite him to come and play at OM (…) if he wants to come, it would be with pleasure.”

Rabiot and Pogba played together for the French national team and Juventus, although injuries limited their time on the pitch as club teammates.

It remains to be seen whether Pogba will accept Rabiot’s invitation and whether OM will make a formal approach for the French international. However, the prospect of the two midfielders coming together at the Ligue 1 club has already sparked enthusiasm among supporters.
