Matty Healy tends online after referring to Taylor Swift while addressing the public of the Glastonbury festival on June 27, 2025. In particular, Matty addressed to the latest Swift album, The Torred Poets Department.
A video showing the singer and producer of Glastonbury records has become viral on different social media platforms. Variety initially obtained the images, and Matty was seen to become emotional by speaking to those who attended the festival.
Matty Healy told everyone that he wanted to be sincere with everyone and added:

“What this moment makes me achieve is that I am probably the best. I am probably the best songwriter of my generation. The best, what do we say … A poet, women and a gentleman, that’s what I am. “
On the other hand, Internet users responded to a message shared by Pop Base on X (formerly Twitter) in the comments section, sharing their reactions to Matty’s words. One of them apparently criticized Matty for mentioning Swift and written:
“Why is he trying to make TTPD influence.”
Among other answers, a user refused to believe that Matty was one of the best songwriters. Another person apparently said that even if Matty Healy was not the best, he was a good singer-songwriter.
“Gracie is the best author of our generation, she wrote 14 original songs,” wrote a user on X.

The answers continued, people referring to Matty’s alleged previous relationship with Taylor Swift.

Matty Healy and Taylor Swift would have separated about two years ago
The first duo meeting would have taken place about ten years ago during a 1975 concert in Los Angeles, as the People magazine said. Matty also confirmed during an interview with the Top 20 in 2014 that he and Swift exchanged figures after performance.
A year later, the duo was spotted by leaving together on different occasions, including the Fête de la Musique Universal Brits. In 2016, Matty said in an article now deleted on X (formerly Twitter) that he was questioned about the nature of his first interaction with Swift during their first meeting.
“I said on countless opportunities that I found it as one of the most gracious, most worked, the most gifted and most beautiful women I had the pleasure of meeting. I personally have a lot of respect and admiration for her. Why would I not do it?
Although Matty or Swift did not make any announcements linked to their relationship on a social media platform, the pair was spotted by going out together in New York about two years ago. An initiate also told People Magazine at the time that Taylor Swift was dragging with Healy happily.
In May 2023, the duo appeared together for the second time outside a recording studio. However, an initiate confirmed the following month that they had separated.
While many people have seen the latest video from Matty de Glastonbury, Taylor Swift has not responded so far.
