Washington, DC: President Donald Trump has organized the greatest American military parade in decades at his 79th birthday on Saturday, while demonstrators gathered across the country to accuse him of acting as a dictator.
Trump praised the United States as the “hottest country in the world” after watching the tanks, planes and troops that go beyond him in Washington to honor the 250th anniversary of the American army.
But that formed a split screen with disorders in the country and abroad, as the police used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators in Los Angeles and the United States, Israel exchanged fires with Iran in an increasing conflict in the Middle East.
Trump’s parade during a covered evening in Washington came after tens of thousands of “No Kings” demonstrators ravaged the streets in cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Houston and Atlanta.
Trump largely avoided his usual internal political diatribes in an unusually brief speech, and rather focused on the praise of the American army, saying that they “fight, fight, fight and they win, win, win”.
The display of military power comes as Trump affirms his power at the national level and on the international scene.
In his speech to the parade, Trump sent a warning to the Washington opponents of “total and complete” defeat, the United States is likely to be tangled in Israel’s conflict with Iran.
“On the other hand, American enemies have learned that if you threaten the American people, our soldiers come for you,” said Trump.
‘Happy birthday’
Trump had openly dreamed since his first mandate as president of having a large military parade, of the type more often seen in Moscow or Pyongyang than Washington.
The latest type parade in the United States was at the end of the 1991 Gulf War.
When he came, Trump got up and praised on a scene outside the White House while the tanks passed, the planes roared above the head and nearly 7,000 soldiers paraded.
The troops and military equipment of different eras of American history have passed, with an advertiser who spent the victories in battles with the Japanese, German, Chinese and Vietnamese forces in past wars.
The army said it was up to $ 45 million.
But while the crowd sang “happy birthday” and there were occasional songs of “USA! USA! ”, The atmosphere was less intense than one of the granges gatherings that swept Trump in power.
The White House said that “more than 250,000 patriots arose” for the event, without providing evidence. Communications Director Steven Cheung described “No Kings” protests as a “full and total failure”.
The “No Kings” organizers said that the demonstrators gathered in hundreds of cities, AFP journalists seeing large crowds in several cities.

The organizers said they protested the dictatorial scope of Trump, and in particular what they described as the symbolism of the strong man of the parade.
“I think people are crazy like hell,” Lindsay Rossy, a 28 -year -old musician, told AFP in New York, where tens of thousands of people gathered.

The murder of a democratic legislator and her husband on Saturday in the northern state of Minnesota – in what the governor called a targeted attack – also launched a veil during the parade.
Trump was quick to condemn attacks outside Minneapolis in which the former state speaker, Melissa Hortman, was killed with her husband, while another state legislator and his wife were hospitalized with ball wounds.
