At least 65 people killed Gaza during fresh air strikes in Israel.
The director of medical supplies of the Gaza Civil Defense Agency, Mohammad al-Mughair, told AFP that 65 people were killed Thursday by Israeli forces on the territory.
Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmud Bassal said more than several of them had been killed while waiting for help.
The Israeli army said that its troops “pulled guard” to prevent “the suspects of approaching” near the Corridor of Netzarim in the center of Gaza, where the Palestinians meet every night for rations.
Israel says that his Gaza offensive aims to destroy Hamas and save hostages seized during the October 2023 attack, which resulted in the death of 1,219 people, mainly civilians, according to an AFP count based on official figures.
The military campaign of Israel killed at least 56,259 people, also mainly civilians, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza managed by Hamas. The United Nations consider that its figures are reliable.
Genocide
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez became the most eminent European leader to describe the situation in Gaza as a “genocide” on Thursday.
After more than 20 months of devastating conflicts, human rights groups say that the Gaza population of more than two million famine conditions is faced with famine conditions.
Israel began to allow supplies to flow at the end of May following a blockade of more than two months, but the distribution was spoiled by chaotic scenes and daily Israeli forces reports pulling those who are waiting to collect rations.
Israel is in a hurry to bombing the territory, in a military offensive, it is supposed to target the Hamas militant group – whose attack on October 2023 against Israel sparked the war.
Sanchez said Gaza was in a “catastrophic situation of the genocide” and urged the European Union to immediately suspend its cooperation agreement with Israel.
The comments represent the strongest condemnation to date by the Spanish Prime Minister, a frank critic of the offensive of Israel who is one of the first European leaders, and the oldest, to use the term “genocide” to describe the situation in Gaza.
Speaking before an EU summit in Brussels, Sanchez mentioned an EU report which revealed that “the indications” Israel raped its human rights obligations under the cooperation agreement, which constitutes the basis of commercial links.
The text cited the blockade of Israel of humanitarian aid for the Palestinian territory, the high number of civilian victims, the attacks against journalists and massive movements and the destruction caused by war.
Gaza out of food
“My children have nothing to eat. I haven’t had flour for almost two months,” said Imad al-Attar, a Gaza resident who obtained a bag of flour on Thursday in the southern city of Khan Yunis.
“We just want to eat,” said another man, Khaled Rashwan. “We die, and no one pays attention to us. Who can we turn to?”
The Gaza Ministry of Health says that since the end of May, nearly 550 people have been killed near aid centers while looking for rare supplies.
The United Nations condemned “the armament of food” in Gaza and criticized a foundation supported by the United States and Israeli which largely replaced the humanitarian organizations established in the territory.
Gaza Humanitarian Privé (GHF) was introduced in the territory at the end of May, but its operations were tainted by chaotic scenes, deaths and problems of neutrality.
The GHF denies fatal incidents occurred in the immediate vicinity of its help points.
The US State Department said Thursday that it had approved its first direct funding – $ 30 million – for GHF and exhorted other countries to follow suit.
Israeli restrictions on the media in Gaza and the difficulties of accessing certain AFP areas are unable to independently check the tolls and details provided by the rescuers and authorities of the territory.
The World Health Organization said on Thursday that it had delivered its first medical dispatch to Gaza since March 2, adding that the nine trucks were “a drop in the ocean”.
After winning the victory in a 12-day war against Iran which ended with a ceasefire on June 24, Israel said that he would refocus on his offensive in Gaza, where Palestinian activists would still hold Israeli hostages.
President Donald Trump told journalists on Wednesday: “I think that great progress is made in Gaza” to end the War of Israel-Hamas and predict “very good news” after the ceasefire.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faces growing calls from opposition politicians, relatives of hostages detained in Gaza and even members of his power coalition to end the fighting.
The key mediator of Qatar said this week that he would launch a new push for a ceasefire.
Israel said efforts to return Israeli hostages to Gaza was underway “on the battlefield and via negotiations”.
