What should you ask to make sure that it is a good choice for you and the school?

Understand the interest of the work interview in Teacher

First of all, understand that you are interviewing the school and the district as much as they interview you, and it is not a power game. The objective of a teaching placement should be an agreement between the school (and the administrators of this school and this school) and the teacher who is sustainable and serves students.

I separated them into two categories – practical and educational. “Practical” questions relate more to work itself – salary, insurance, placement, etc. I probably missed obvious because this type of question varies madly from one position to another. Something absolutely crucial in one country, a state or a district can be much less in another.

Practical interview questions for teachers

1 and 1 How can I help? It is, beyond “class teaching”, what opportunities are there to support my colleagues and the students of this school?

2. In terms of deliverables – visible results –What do we expect every day from each teacher? What are the “non-negotiations” of the school and the district? In other words, what are things – behaviors and general expectations – who are in place for each teacher, every day universally and through the table without negotiation or flexibility? (It looks like a strange question, but in general, it comes down to the way in which the school / the district “does things”, and can have a great effect on the adequacy between the teacher and the work questioned for.)

10. How is this school / district different from that ten years ago? What data is there to support this? (Beware of the second part, but know with certainty that a school or a district would not think twice before asking a teacher something similar.)

11. What convincing opportunities for me to improve my job in this school or this district?

12. What is the strength of the school / district IT service? Are they well struck and sufficiently funded? What about the District Internet filter-is it designed to support students’ learning?

13. What role does this media librarian / specialist play daily in the middle class? (This can be revealing in several ways.)

14. Is there an educational coach or an expert on program who can help me grow? Or are they used punitive to “surprise me to hurt”? (Do not ask the second part.)

15. How can I know that I am safe here – physically, professionally, emotionally and otherwise?

25. What were the greatest successes of this school recently? Historically?

34. Is it “sure” to teach here? In other words, is it sure for me professionally, psychologically and physically?

35. Is there a teaching union? Is it compulsory? What is the history of the relationship between the teachers’ union and the school / district?
